Students will have their first set of spelling words, which will be located in the pencil case in the take home binder. Students will be using these words at school, so make sure to put the words back in the case after studying at home. All students will have the same set of words this week in order to learn the procedures of Words Their Way. The test will be this Friday.

Word wall words are the same as last week. The word wall test will be on Thursday.

I hope this isn't too confusing...I promise to explain procedures in detail at Curriculum Night! :-)

Students can bring in stickers, pictures, etc. to decorate their Writer's Notebook this week.

We made it through our first full week of school, despite the heat!

Our major focus this week was "Read to Self," and we discussed characteristics that good readers exhibit. We visited the LMC and came up with rules for our own classroom library.

On Wednesday be on the lookout for our first assignment sheet and set of word wall words. Both of these items will be in your child's take home binder.

Please ensure that snacks are nut-free. Some students have been bringing snacks with peanut butter to class. Thank you for your support.
